Mississippi Ethics - Special Volume of The Lucas Letter - 1.5 Contact Hours
In this volume of The Lucas Letter we explore ethical issues in the Indiana case of Reasor v. Putnam (1994). Even though this is an Indiana case, the ethics issues transcend jurisdictional boundaries. We utilize the National Society of Professional Land Surveyors (NSPS), Surveyor’s Creed and Canons as the barometer for ethical behavior. This case involves a private practice surveyor who performed as directed by his client with unintended consequences. This Correspondence Course package includes the 2-Page Letter exploring the case and its ramifications, the NSPS Creed and Canons, and a 14-Page decision. This 17-Page document has a 10-Question examination based on the Letter, the NSPS Creed and Canons and the Court Decision. This is a correspondence course which allows for questions and answers (primarily through e-mail) and requires participants to send (e-mail preferably) the examination back to us for grading. Please allow at least one hour for this study.
OBJECTIVES: To present everyday professional ethical issues based on an actual court case and opinion, resulting in real consequences for the professional(s) and other parties involved. Upon successful completion of our 10-Question examination, participants will be awarded a certificate of completion for 1.5 Professional Development Hours.
